La artista enfrentaba problemas de salud relacionados con el Alzheimer, padecimiento que afect\u00f3 su calidad de vida en los \u00faltimos a\u00f1os.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"p1 wp-block-paragraph\">Tongolele fue una figura emblem\u00e1tica del cine de oro mexicano, reconocida por su ex\u00f3tica belleza, su caracter\u00edstico cabello blanco y su talento en la danza afrocaribe\u00f1a. Debut\u00f3 en el cine en 1947 con la pel\u00edcula Nocturno de amor y conquist\u00f3 al p\u00fablico con su participaci\u00f3n en filmes como \u00a1Han matado a Tongolele! y El rey del barrio.
